Coming home
The Haines family left New York hosptial on Friday, January 22nd. It's not every day you enter a place with a suitcase and leave with a suitcase and a precious little baby. We sort of can't believe they just let us walk out the door with him. We can't wait to show Lucas his new home.

Lucas William Haines enters the world!
On January 20th at 1:23 pm, an amazing little person joined us in the world: Lucas William Haines. Unlike his often tardy mommy, Lucas arrived promptly on his due date. At birth, he weighed 7 lbs 6 oz and measured 21 inches. He has a bit of dark brown hair, dark eyes--color to be determined, and golden, smooth skin. We are struck by his extra-long fingers and large feet and think this could bode well for his chances on the Duke basketball team. Most of all we are struck by his amazing beauty and existence. We have a healthy son and could not be more thrilled.
